Travel with God

When I travel, time with God is nonnegotiable.

During my solo travel years, I started praying a lot on trips and used apps or listened to my church’s messages online to stay connected to God on the go. Because I did my best to pack light, bringing extra books—like devotionals or my Bible—didn’t happen; so, online resources were key.

Still today, I use devotional podcasts, the Bible app, and an online concordance to study God’s Word, whether I’m home or not. One major benefit of our digital age is the access we have to Christian resources with a single click.

The Process of Writing a Travel Devotional Book

Earlier this year, a question popped into my head: Do travel-themed devotionals exist?

Of course, I Googled and found some. And then I thought, Should I write a travel devotional?

I mean, I have a LOT of travel stories that taught me a LOT of life lessons. Spiritual lessons. Travel taught me to rely on God more and continually choose to put Him above my jet setting desires. Travel helped me let go of fear and anxiety in situations where I did not know what to do. And travel still teaches me.

Truthfully, I sat on this idea for a while. Then I prayed about it. Then I started an outline. Then more prayer because I needed God to show me the right stories to tell and the right scripture to include.

God kept leading, word by word, till I had a draft.

I won’t bore you with ALL the details, but that draft is now a published book on Amazon: Travel with GodA 10-Day Travel Devotional for Time with God on the Go.

Originally, I envisioned this devotional as an e-book only. After all, part of my inspiration was to create a resource that didn’t take up extra room in your suitcase.

But, what if the print version were smaller. Say, pocket-sized? Kind of like a passport? I was sold, and decided to make the print version happen, too.

Whether you’re an e-book fan or you need a physical copy in your hands, I’ve got you covered.

Click here to view Travel with God on Amazon—both the e-book and paperback.

It includes:

  • Stories and life lessons from my personal travels
  • Spiritual application with Bible verses
  • A daily question to ponder
  • Daily prayer prompts
  • A longer Bible passage to read (with the full verses right in the text, in case you aren’t able to look them up!)
  • A Christian music travel playlist

Creating Travel Accessories

Along with my devotional, I started an online shop of travel-themed products with my own designs. The shop is featured on Zazzle, which I’ve used quite a LOT to design and personalize my own products like t-shirts, hats, pillows, mugs, and more.

So, when I saw that Zazzle offers the option to set up a shop, I decided to give it a go.

Click here to view my shop. I named it HopeAndTheGirl after my Instagram account @hopeandthegirl, with the purpose to spread hope and encouragement through my designs.

I plan to continue building my shop with new designs periodically, so be sure to check back for new product designs from time-to-time.

Be Encouraged and Inspired

Whether you buy and read my travel devotional, purchase one of my shop products on Zazzle, sign up for my newsletter, engage with me on Instagram, or read my blog… I hope and pray you feel encouraged by even one word or one piece of my art.

And please let me know if you do feel encouraged or inspired! I would love to know what resonates with you and how I can continue to spread hope and be a light through the gifts God has given me to share.

Thank you for being here. I appreciate your encouragement, too!
