In February 2024, I started the Recover with God Podcast — a faith-based podcast for those struggling with an eating disorder, disordered eating, diet culture and yo-yo dieting, overeating, overexercising, body image and more.
You can read the story behind the podcast here.
In Season 1, I interviewed dietitians, nutritionists, coaches, women who recovered, and even friends and family of someone struggling. My goal was to make this podcast a resource for both Christians who struggle and for those who want to help but aren’t sure how.
(If you’re someone who wants to help, click here to read my guide for what to say and what not to say to someone with an eating disorder.)
If you found this post because you were searching for a Christian podcast on eating disorder recovery or anti-diet culture or finding food freedom — I want this to be a resource for you to better navigate my podcast and find what you’re looking for.

This is truly the way to worship him. [2] Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

- 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NLT) “[16] You should know that you yourselves are God’s temple. God’s Spirit lives in you. [17] If you destroy God’s temple, God will destroy you, because God’s temple is holy. You yourselves are God’s temple.”

Episode 12: Temptation, the Bible and Eating Disorders with Jayme Muller
On this episode, I read an excerpt from my book, also titled Recover with God — including the introduction to the book and chapter 10: “The Temptation is Real.”
Recover with God (the book that came before the podcast) was born from my own struggle to connect with God during my eating disorder struggle. Somewhere along my recovery journey, I learned that God wants a relationship with us IN our mess, not after we “fix” it — and I am passionate to share that message with everyone who needs it like I once did. (Note: the link above is an Amazon affiliate link.)
Bible verses referenced in this episode:
- 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ERV) “The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.”
- James 1:14-15 (ERV) “You are tempted by the evil things you want. Your own desire leads you away and traps you. Your desire grows inside you until it results in sin. Then the sin grows bigger and bigger and finally ends in death.”
- Matthew 26:41 (ERV) “Stay awake and pray for strength against temptation. Your spirit wants to do what is right, but your body is weak.”
