Best Vuori Villa Shorts Dupe

I am a frugal fashionista.

Admittedly, I own a LOT of clothes. I also score a lot of deals—which requires a random blend of patience, persistence, thrifting, and discovering dupes.

Today, I want to share an example of the latter. This is probably the best dupe I’ve ever found and I can’t keep it to myself.

As a full-time, work-from-home gal since 2017, my wardrobe has gradually evolved to include more athleisure styles over the years. I also travel often and love packing items that are versatile, won’t wrinkle, and don’t take up too much space in my suitcase.

At some point, Instagram influencers introduced me to Vuori and I fell in love with the brand’s easy, everyday effortless looks. But I didn’t fall in love with the price tags.

As I mentioned above, I’m frugal. The few times I’ve splurged on Vuori, I’ve either used an influencer’s code or shopped the clearance section. Two of my best Vuori buys have come from the Villa collection—the Villa Wideleg Trouser Pant and the pull-on Villa Short.

To date, I haven’t found a perfect dupe for the trousers. But that’s okay. We’re here to talk about the shorts.

These CRZ YOGA Shorts Are the Perfect Vuori Dupe

You might be familiar with this brand on Amazon. If you search “crz yoga shorts,” the results can be overwhelming, and some styles appear very similar. Not to worry! I’ve got you covered. These are the exact dupe shorts. (Note: this is an Amazon Affiliate link and I make a small commission if you purchase anything on Amazon after clicking this link.)

I am not ashamed to admit that I own these CRZ YOGA shorts in four colors now: True Navy, Grey Sage, Red Merlot, and Sparkle Blue.

But I also own the Vuori Villa Short in three colorways, which allows me to share this honest review with you. And by the way, in case it’s not clear, this post is definitely not sponsored by Vuori!

My Review of the Vuori Villa Short Vs. CRZ YOGA Athletic Shorts

First, I want to note that I purchased two pair of the Villa shorts before I knew the CRZ YOGA shorts existed. And I only purchased a third pair of the Villa because I had a discount code for my birthday and really wanted them in brown—a color not available on Amazon.

Once I bought my first pair of the CRZ YOGA dupe, though, I was hooked.

Here is a rundown of the similarities and differences between the two brands.

Cost Comparison

At the time I published this blog, the Vuori Villa Short retails for $74. Vuori also rarely gives out discount codes or offers sitewide sales. I’ve lucked out with a few 20% off codes, but those are few and far between. Occasionally, I’ve seen last season Villa colors moved to clearance; however, even on clearance, they were not as cheap as the Amazon pair.

The CRZ YOGA shorts are currently $26 on Amazon. They also rarely go on sale, though I score one pair at a slight discount during Prime Day last year.

Fit Comparison

Personally, I like my athletic shorts a little baggy. This style, in particular, also looks good a bit flowy.

That said, both the Vuori and CRZ YOGA shorts fit exactly the same on me. I own both in size Medium. Here’s what I recommend, based on the size charts for each brand.

Vuori Size Chart — If you are between sizes, size up for a slightly flowy and oversized fit that is not too big. If you prefer a tighter fit, get your usual size based on the size chart.

CRZ YOGA Size Chart — I believe the size chart is pretty accurate. If you want a slightly flowy, oversized fit, go with your usual size based on the chart. If you want a tighter fit, size down.

Style Comparison

Style-wise, I can’t tell the difference between the Vuori Villa and the CRZ YOGA—other than the visible logo tags. From the front, side, or back, no one would know the difference!

One more thing to note: The inside of the waistband, the CRZ YOGA pair has an elastic band that you can pull to tighten, if needed. The Vuori Villa pair does not

Fabric and Quality Comparison

To me, the fabric feels and looks the same. So does the stitching on the waistband, at every seam, and along the hemline. Again, I can’t tell the difference and I doubt anyone else would be able to tell either. Oh, and the fabric doesn’t wrinkle for either brand, which makes them perfect for travel!

None of the pairs I own are see-through, although most of the colors I own are darker. I recommend reading the reviews about specific colors, if you’re curious.

Let me go back to the fabric for a second, though. I purchased my first pair of the Vuori Villa shorts about two years ago and, while not noticeable from a distance, the fabric is starting to show faint signs of wear. So far, none of the CRZ YOGA shorts I’ve purchased have this issue—but, to be fair, I bought my first pair just over a year ago, so they aren’t quite as old.

Color Option Comparison

Each brand has its own set of color options. Vuori tends to change seasonally. CRZ YOGA tends to change periodically, but it seems to be based more on availability than seasonality. Like I shared above, I went with Vuori for one pair simply because I wanted a color that was not available on Amazon.

Overall Comparison

If price were not a factor, I would be happy with either the Vuori Villa or the CRZ YOGA shorts. Both look and feel the same to me.

Because I love saving money, if I had to chose, my vote will always be the CRZ YOGA option. Whether you are an active gal who loves to travel, or you work from home, these will not disappoint. I wear them ALL THE TIME.
